Petra Nemcova was born June 24,1979 in Karvina ,Czechoslovakia.She is a model, television host, author, and philanthropist. Her career began at age 16 when she was discovered at a national talent search. She went on to appear in famed magazines Sports Illustrate( appearing on the front cover in 2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,and 2006) She is also a Victoria's Secret Angel. In 2004 she became a victim of the Indian Ocean Tsunami. Her near death experience provoked her to start a foundation that would provide shelter,clothing and resources available to victims who have experienced loss or tragedy in natural disasters. It is called the Happy Hearts Fund Foundation. She went on a life mission to help those individuals who are less fortunate and make a difference in there lives(supporting victims in Peru's 2007 Earthquake). From writing her book Love Always Petra, to gracing the front covers of FHM and Sports Illustrated, to starting a foundation she has given the world not only beauty and intrigue , but heart as well.
